Terms of Session Work

1. Scope of Service

I provide remote guitar recording services as a session musician. This includes the performance and delivery of guitar parts recorded specifically for your project based on your brief.

All work is delivered remotely unless otherwise agreed in writing.

2. Payment

• A 50% deposit is required upfront to secure the booking and begin work
• The remaining 50% balance is due upon delivery of the final files
• Work will begin once the deposit and project scope are confirmed
• Additional revisions or changes outside the agreed brief may incur an additional fee

3. Rights & Usage (Work for Hire)

Unless otherwise agreed in writing prior to recording:

• All recordings are provided on a work-for-hire basis
• You receive full usage rights for the delivered audio within your project
• I do not retain ownership of the master recording once payment is completed
• You are free to use the delivered guitar recordings in commercial or non-commercial releases

4. Songwriting & Publishing (PRS)

• I do not claim songwriting or composition credits for session guitar work
• PRS or publishing rights remain with the original songwriter(s) unless a separate agreement is made prior to recording
• Any contribution beyond performance (e.g. co-writing, melody creation, or structural input) must be agreed in writing before work begins

5. Performance Rights (PPL)

• Session fees are paid as a one-off performance fee
• No ongoing performance royalties (PPL) are claimed unless explicitly agreed in advance
• This is standard practice for remote session musicianship

6. Revisions

• A reasonable number of revisions is included depending on the agreed package
• Revisions must remain within the original creative brief
• Significant changes in direction may be treated as additional work

7. File Delivery

• Final recordings are delivered as high-quality WAV files unless otherwise requested
• Stems may include DI tracks, processed tones, or both depending on the project
• Files are delivered via download link or agreed platform

8. Credits (Optional)

Credit is appreciated but not required unless specifically agreed. If credited, standard attribution may include:

9. Turnaround Times

Typical turnaround is 2–5 working days depending on project size. Timelines may vary for larger or complex arrangements.

10. Usage Restrictions

Unless otherwise agreed:

• Delivered recordings are for use within the agreed project only
• Redistribution of isolated recordings (e.g. selling stems or samples) is not permitted without permission

11. Agreement

By commissioning work, both parties agree to the above terms unless otherwise stated in writing prior to commencement of work.
