Welcome to this online guitar course 'Brushing up The Blues'. In this guitar course we will take an in depth look at 'how to comp in a range of different musical styles of the blues'. The module is divided into 14 different lessons lessons. Whilst every person is different the estimate number of time that this course will take you is between 12 and 16 weeks.

The Learning Outcomes

All guitarists/learners will have developed a deeper and wider understanding of rhythm guitar in the specific different styles of blues music and be able to perform the examples through with support from the lesson resources.

Most guitarists/learners will be able perform blues rhythm guitar parts in a wide variety of different styles from memory and with confidence. 

Some guitarists/learners will be able to perform blues rhythm guitar stylistically with flair demonstrating the ability to improvise their own comping ideas within the conventions of each different style of blues music. For example you would be able to improvise a walking bass line in a Jazz blues and then be able to 'comp' stylistically within a slow blues style.
